Today, marks the end of one era and the beginnings of another, the lives of the newly graduated students will begin to take on different routes.
Some of those routes will be a first glimpse of reality while for others it’ll mark the return into education. It was Charles Dickens who once said that “The pain of parting is nothing to the joy of meeting again”.
Today also marks the parting of a dear faculty member @marysimpson who will be leaving the institution. Myself and many others would like to thank Mary for all the hard work and strong believe, Mary had in us and continues to have in us, especially when we were struggling, many times throughout the last three years have we all gone to Mary with some problem or the other.

Looking around at this mornings graduation ceremony, I began to get misty eyed and began to remember what it was like when this journey first began in the Swan Theatre which nearly burst at the seams as we all rushed in, and the then Student President, @JoeCollins welcomed into the university.
As today marks the end of the journey that began in the very theatre that it ends in, the number of people at the finish line are far less than those the race began with. Some we remember, others we never had the opportunity to meet.

We can also be thankful to our families. These past three years have presented us with a lot of ups and downs and it is good to know that we had our families in our corner, supporting us along the way. Thanks Mum and Dad. I would not be here today without you.
Finally, we can be thankful for each other. The friendships that we have made here will last a lifetime. In the same way we have supported each other and helped each other succeed in these years at @Bucks new uni, I hope we will continue to provide support and encouragement for each other in future endeavors.
Often on graduation day we look outside for heroes but I see them right here among us. I have seen in my years at Bucks New Uni that we don’t have to look far for inspiration and that we all have the potential to make an inspiring contribution to others, by being true to our values and committing ourselves to lofty goals.
As you all leave the university for the last time, celebrate what you have accomplished, but look forward with an eye toward how you, too, can be the inspiration for others.
Congratulations class of 2019!
